Plum Branch Yacht Club Accepts Delivery of Phelps “Honey Wagon” Pump-Out System

Meet George Selfridge from Plum Branch Yacht Club (PBYC) located on Lake J. Strom Thurmond. He has proudly been serving as their Dockmaster for over 26 years. Plum Branch is South Carolina’s longest active inland Clean Marina, having had their status granted in 2006.

Plum Branch recently acquired funding from the South Carolina Department of Natural Resource’s Clean Vessel Act for a “honey wagon” sewage pump-out station that Phelps custom designed for them. Offering pump-outs has had a synergistic effect on PBYC, as these customers are also filling up with gas and touring the facilities during their visit. George believes this addition will promote Clean Marina practices and attract environmentally conscious boaters. He continues to look for new technology and innovative ways to be more efficient at both fueling and waste removal.

Plum Branch Yacht Club earned the prestigious Marina Dock Age magazine’s 2019 Marina of the Year award. Check out the article in the September 2020 issue: https://www.marinadockage.com/digital-issues/.
